Alright, I'm revamping this thread to be a full out Movie Review Thread. Basically if you just watched a movie and want to rate/review it, go ahead and post here. It can be any movie, new or old. hopefully more people will get involved and this "guide" can help people decide whether to watch a movie or not. Carry on.
Things to include in your review;
- Name of the movie (obviously)
- Number rating. (1-10)
- What you thought of the movie. (Was it funny, boring, did the storyline play out well etc)
- Did the movie accomplish what it set out to do? (ties in with the above)

2012 : 3/10
movie was entertaining, in no way conceivable was this an amazing movie, it had a shitty storyline....very cliche if you ask me...reminded me of a low budget war of the worlds meets the day after tomorrow, with the deadbeat dad who then becomes the hero....give me a break. Acting was mediocre. -kolombianstyles
2012- 5.9/10
I know I'm going in an opposite direction than Karina and sinelas, but I really didn't like this movie. It started off WAY too slow; took too much time explaining The Sun's solar stuff with the thing-a-ma-bob-er. Then, when it did happen, I felt there wasn't enough consistancy with shit f**king up; really? I mean, I watched this movie 'cause that's all I wanted to see: Shit f**k up. But instead, got people trying too hard to rid their dirty conscience and play hero.
Also, the movie was filled with at least 34 "WTF?!" moments; completely unrealistic throughout the whole film. The comedy wasn't there either- I only laughed at some funny looking people I doubt the director meant to be funny. Let me add I was really faded while I watched this movie, so that may be why I was so impatient, but still, this movie blows. Don't reccommend it to anyone. -N!KEHEAD
2012 - 9.5/10
Great story line , amazing effects and it reminds me what just happened in our country ( couple of months ago in the Phil.) minus the earthquakes and the explosions, and the comic relief is funny to ( the girl giving a dirty finger to that fat russian dude ). overall lesson ( when mother nature get's mad )
we can't stop it . -airtsinelas23
2012 - 9.5/10
Amazing movie! Great Storyline, amazing actors...
So many amazing effects; mushroom clouds; so many things were done right with this movie
Its definitely a movie to watch if you like explosions, accidents! Really makes you think of things. The comedy relief they had was amazing as well!
I truly hope its nothing like this in 2012 -AirKarinaBx23
9- 8.2/10
A pretty good animated action movie. Likeable characters, action is pretty fast paced, and the overall look of it is beautiful. Only bad thing is the run time, 79 minutes. Worth watching. Funny thing is, Tim Burton is only one of the 4 producers, in yet, he gets credit for movie across many forums -N!KEHEAD

Casino- 8.7/10
An awesome, action packed, fast paced, Scorsese 3 hour epic, Casino is everything you expect it to be. With great performances by Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci, this movie will not lose your attention for one moment. It is about the Las Vegas strip in the 70's, and how the worlds of the legitimate managers and underground mobsters exist as one. Sharon Stone gives an Oscar winning performance as Sam "Ace" Rothstein's (De Niro) wife, and truly ties the story together. Though narration is great and the dialogue is truly memorable, I do not feel that Casino is quite on the Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, Goodfellas level of excellence that Scorsese has reached in past. That being said, this is an excellent, truly entertaining film which you will definitely not regret seeing.-jansan
The Collector - 9/10
From the creators who brought you the "Saw" series they manage to bring some life back to the torture genre with a fast pace, bloody, horror thriller. Most of the film takes place at a house that gets booby trapped and then add a thief who knows the family and the house very well along with some disturbed human collector, and you get an intense cat and mouse chase filled with bloody traps. If you liked the "Saw" series you need to check this out! One of my favorite summer releases.
Bottom line: You watched all the of the "Saw" series including both "Hostel" films this is your next stop to gore, bloody, horror. [-b]invaders[/b]
Couples Retreat- 9.2/10
Hilarious film. Although, I did miss the first 15 minutes of the film, or so. Picked up and immediately was laughing throughout the film. Also, shows how they make their own relationships work well, and in a hilarious way. Definately go and watch this film. -N!KEHEAD
D
Death Race 7/10
The action sequences in the film are top notch [no noticeable cgi stuff and good amounts of explosion and gore]. The storyline was ok but not a strongpoint of the film. Very nice seeing the variety of cars being used as war machines; everything from BMW to Pontiac. Lot of weapons too such as a .50cal turret, rpgs, and the "tombstone". The romance elements in the film kind of kill it though [because it wasn't well played]. You see how a distant future handles overpopulation and capitalism. -M4A1
District 9 7/10
Great concept and plot. Very original using such a setting as South Africa for an alien encounter/invasion. Good character development; you see the guy go from corporate puppet to basically a "cornered animal". However I don't like incompetence to be a trait for a main character. Doubt it'll have much replay value. -M4A1
Dodgeball - 9.5/10
Hilarious movie. It was a straight comedy with no twists that kept me laughing the whole way through. Not only that but it had a great storyline too and the ending was perfect. I even enjoyed the after credits bonus. -Launchpad.

Fantastic 4 - 9.1/10
This movie was entertaining the whole way through and really managed to keep my attention. The acting was good and the action scenes were on the spot. The only reason I did not give this a 10 is because some scenes dragged out. -LAUNCHPAD
The Fourth Kind- 6.8/10
Is it just a coincidence that Paranormal Activity and this movie came out within the span of a month, or so, both being documentary scary films on "true events"? Either way you look at it, this one wasn't much of a looker. It started off slow, and mind you the first minute hyped me thinking it would be all thrills. Regardless, it did have a few scenes of some interesting action. Don't want to spoil anything, but there was one scene that was kind of sad, and two others that looked pretty creepy, but cool. The acting, IMO, was kind of bad- I expected better from Mila Jovovich. I wouldn't rush out to see this film in theaters, but if you plan to go out on a date with the girlfriend and have already seen Paranormal Activity, this is runner-up material, I guess.-N!KEHEAD
The Fourth Kind - 8/10
This movie started off slow but quickly got my attention. It kept me on the edge of my seat for the most part and kept me thinking.
If you like movies inspired by true events and don't mind a lot of dialogue then this is a movie for you.
The ending will keep you awake for a while. -Launchpad.
Futurama Bender's Game 9/10
Very entertaining movie because of the storyline and the minor parodies. A lot of "stories within the story" and all play out very well. If you catch it on blu-ray, the picture quality is pristine. Easily the better of the first three Futurama films, but I'd place it in a tie with the fourth. A good amount of replay value too. -M4A1
G
Ghostbusters7.5/10
Disclaimer: if you feel you are part of the innovative or society progressing group, avoid this movie. Given that this movie came out in 1985, it feels a bit dated. Nonetheless a pretty entertaining movie. Plot was a bit slow to build up, but towards the end it picked up pretty fast. -M4A1
H
The Heart of Me- 8.2/10
To be honest, I only bought this film and watched it because it stars Helena Bonham Carter. But surprisingly, it wasn't bad at all. It's a film about deception and passion, empathy and sympathy. The way it is portrayed, also is pretty interesting, but works well. The acting is good by all 3 characters the film revolves around; Helena Bonham Carter shining above all, as usual. Chick flick, but it's watchable. One to watch with your girlfriend.-N!KEHEAD

I Love You Man - 8/10
This move is pretty funny. I was expecting it to be more, hilarious but it still wasn't that bad. I really liked the story. It was fun to see the bond between the two main characters(groom and bestman) grow. The groom had alot of good character development. He kept saying hilarious things, because he was really awkward when it came to guy friends and having buddies. So instead of just saying something like "wasup my bro" he would over exaggerate it, and it would be hilarious. So I think, this movie would classify as a buddy flick. Good movie, not bad! -Super Nova
Inglorious Bastards - 9/10
This movie has been out for a while but I just recently watched it a couple days ago. It wasn't a complicated plot. (killing nazi's) But not suprisingly it was very well directed and had a great cast including Brad Pitt who I think did a great job considering the roll. It had its humerous parts with a lot of action, drama, violence, and some suspense. I can honestly say I was not bored at all during the movie. -KURUPT_1
The Informant!- 7.5/10
This movie was slightly confusing; mainly because I ran downstairs to cop soem nachos, and had to wait in line for a few minutes. But despite that I was a bit confused, it was kind of intriguing. Interesting how Mark Whitacre (Matt Damon) played all those people to get money. Oh shit, was that a spoiler? Either way, if you can stand a film of nothing but dialgoue, and witty humor, watch it. -N!KEHEAD
The Invention of Lying- 7.8/10
Good movie, IMO. The comedy is a bit spread out, but just the way the film was, it never once bored me. Also, Jennifer garner looks beautiful in it (until she wears a ponytail, then I realize why I forgot how pretty she was- those ears O_o), also. I enjoyed it, but have a feeling some people want all laughs rather than a feel good movie. If that's so, it's worth a rent. But if you want to watch a movie like that, with a few good laughs, catch it in theaters. -N!KEHEAD
[b]The Invention of Lying - 8/10[/b]
Came in with little expectations. I left the theater satisfied. The movie was great. Comedy was on point...and the endless cameos made it that much better. Edward Nortons role was so random but appropriate The overall message was fantastic too. This comedy was executed the way a good comedy should be. -Joeyzofo88

Jennifer's Body- 2/10
Worst movie of 2009. Filled with cheesy jokes, no scares, and no nude Megan Fox. The makeout scene was pretty hot, but I'm sure you can YouTube it. Other than that, don't see this movie. EVER. -N!KEHEAD
Jennifers Body - 6.8/10
This movie isnt that bad as people say. Yes there is no depth to the movie. And story line is whatever. But its still a fun movie to watch. The movie doesnt even seem like a horror. More like a dark comedy. They did a bad job on making Megan Fox the antagonist. Because at the end you still feel for her as if she was one of the good guys. I feel the story moved to quick, and they could of done more to make it interesting. Either way, if your bored and wanna watch a sexy Megan Fox. Go ahead and watch this if you seen everything else already.-SuperNova

Law Abiding Citizen - 9.3/10
This movie was really good. It all made sense, a lot of twists and turns, and very comical, at many times. DO NOT miss out on this film. Definately rush out to see it.-N!KEHEAD

Pan's Labyrinth- 9.7/10
An amazing film, it's got countless aspects which can make it a classic. The acting is great, as well as the story line, and the lighting/cinematography is incredible. It can fit into so many categories that there is something to like in it for everyone. It is clearly an adventure/fantasy film, but also incorporates a historical aspect, as well as some awesome blood/gore and thriller/horror scenes. No movie made in the United States could be so bold in the way that it tells its tale. The English translations are superb (I barely speak Spanish), but the director, Guillermo del Toro wrote the subtitles himself. It is the kind of film that makes you think about not only reality and fantasy, but so much more. A must see for everyone.-jansan
Pandorum- 7.4/10
First time I saw this movie, loved it. Second time, noticed it kind of dragged on a lot. But the action, when it happens, is fast-paced and good. The story is somewhat confusing, for most people, but I understood it pretty well. Could've used a bit more clarification on one aspect, but it was explained okay. Watch this with a date, has plenty of jumps and thrills. -N!KEHEAD
Paranormal Activity: 8.7/10
This movie just definately has me super paranoid. First, the movie builds up slow, yes, but the guy is hilarious throughout film with his clever remarks. But when it picks up, it definately has you wondering and in awe. Then as it progresses deeper, it gets really creepy, and the ending kinda freaked me out. Only reason I gave it an 8.7 rather than a high 9, is because I got to thinking- Documentary off real story but there are 3 endings, so I heard. O_o
Still, catch this in theater; totally worth it. See it with a big group of friends, or just a girl; it's a fun and creepy movie. -N!KEHEAD
Paranormal Activity- 5.7/10
I came into the theaters not having seen a preview, I had only heard by word of mouth how incredibly scary this movie was. This hype resulted in the majority of my tenseness and jumps throughout the movie. Regardless of what you make of my perspective, this is definitely the kind of movie you will be entertained by in theaters. In my opinion, it was not as scary as everyone claimed it to be, I was shocked during a few scenes, but not too much more. I did, however, enjoy the filming, the fact that it was mostly shot with a hand held gave it a very interesting "Blair Witch" type feel. I also liked the use of silence in the movie, it definitely added a hint of eeriness. Overall I felt slightly disappointed, and not 100% satisfied, and I am itching to tell you to be cautious about spending the $9-11 it will cost you to get in. In the end I realize that it was a good thrill and I'm sure you'll have fun seeing it on the big screen regardless of how respectable of a film it was. -jansan

Resident Evil Degeneration - 7/10
May not best the live-action series in terms of originality, but it does have a faithful appeal to RE fans. It has familiar characters from the older games, the zombies as opposed to the leech-controlled humans, and another mysterious and powerful corporation with access to the biological research and development from Umbrella Corp. Being a sci-fi film, the tactical methods used are cringe-worthy and can make even the average person think "wtf". Could be mistaken for a really really long cutscene from a RE game. -M4A1

Saw VI - 4/10
I found this movie to be a let down. When the movie ended the first thing that came outta my mouth was, "that's it?" The signs of the series losing its relevance become more and more noticeable every year they spit out a new Saw movie. This year was no exception I feel like they are scraping bottom with characters to put to the test. It really felt like they were trying hard to keep this movie related to the story but at the same time keep it towards a direction for them to expand and squeeze out 2 more movies and hopefully no more after. You can tell by the addition of social significance with the health care system and how most of the movie was full of flashbacks that ties in the previous movies. The balance of keeping the fans happy with the ongoing story if Jigsaw's legacy and the people who just watch it for the gore/traps wasn't executed very well.
Bottom line: Unless you are a hardcore Jigsaw fan check it out b/c the story is still being dragged on but if not, you can skip this movie and wisely spend your money going to a haunted house which will probably scare you more. -invaders
Saw VI: 8/10
invaders, you sound like you watched all previous 5 films. To be frankly honest, I only watched the first one years back, and barely remember any significant details. So for the first half of movie, and a bit near end, I was really confused. I pieced it together, just a bit, and actually understood it just a bit. But anyways, this movie was fileld with gore. Call me weird, but I was actually on edge of my seat wanting more of it, but then it'd be NC-17, . Anyways, the moral of this film is good, just depicted in a very twisted manner. There kind of was no "jump" scenes in this film, just a shitload of scenes that made you cringe at how sick they were. If you're just looking to watch some sick, grotesque film with torture, I would say watch this. If you're looking to get into a series of film with violence, watch the first 5 films, or read about them, and then watch.-N!KEHEAD
Sorority Row- 5.8/10
A mediocre thriller. Shows some tits, but some aren't even that great. The killer is a bit unexpected, but makes sense. I would say this is an online watch, or rent, if you have no other choice. -N!KEHEAD
Stan Helsing - 2/10
Stupid and lamest parody/spoof movie I have ever saw. It was more embarrassing, just to watch it. In the beginning it seemed alright. But as soon as it kicks in, you already know how dumb this movie is. Its one of those movies you can just put on and not pay attention to, because there really is no story you have to follow. Only reason why I even gave it a 2 because of the hotties in the movie. Only reason why I kept watching it. Scary Movie owns this movie in many ways. Even the other Scary Movies without the Wayan Bros is still better.-Super Nova
The Stepfather- 8/10
Two words, one question: Disturbia sequel? This movie reminded me exactly of Disturbia, which was my favorite movie of 2007. The story line was good, it had a bunch of thrills, it was very funny, when needed to be, and overall was just a great film. You got really engaged with the characters and felt yourself jumping when there was a scare. Only thing was I wish was that they explained the son's story a bit, but that can be overlooked.. But what can't be overlooked is the regret you will feel if you miss this movie. -N!KEHEAD
Surrogates- 6.9/10
Bruce Willis is aging. And this proves it. The movie was somewhat interesting, but I couldn't see myself getting into it. Action was okay, had some pretty good twist and turns. More of a rental, IMO. -N!KEHEAD
T
Taken - 9/10
[I would give it a higher score but it lacks replay value]
Excellent plot and execution. Liam Neeson is the man. He has an objective in the movie [rescue his daughter] and he carries it out in the most efficient manner possible. I applaud the man and the character. For the sheltered people who aren't too familiar with society, the type of stuff in this movie is real. It's tough to know such people exist and they are successful at what they do [the traffickers I mean].-M4A1
Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen - 4/10
This was one of the most convoluted, stereotypical, politically incorrect, and immature movies I have every seen. I am also appalled that the amount of foul language in this movie is even there. Its a Transformers movie, not Bad Boys 2. I have an open mind when seeing movies, but I could not turn off that "common sense" part of my brain, like everyone in the theatre did. The first Transformers was decent, mostly something to please the more "diehard" fans, but still upset some. TF2 seemed like Michael Bay sat down and said, "K, guys, now that everyone thinks I'm serious about this franchise, Im going to make the movie I wanted to make, more Robots, 'Splosions, Foul Language, and offensive immature humor that will appeal to 11 year old boys, anyone?".
I also find it hard to believe that someone didn't have the decency or the balls to tell Michael to stop adding the horrible jokes and stereotypical satire (Devastator had balls, seriously?). I mean, did all of that just slip past everyone at the studio? Now, I am all for off-color humor and raunchy jokes, but absolutely not in a Transformers movie, please. And granted, I did enjoy some of the action scenes, If Michael got anything right, it was the ACTION. Forest scene gets a -m4sk2f4ace
Trick r' Treat: 9/10
This movie is really dope! Its the perfect Halloween movie. It has 4 different stories that tie in together in many ways throughout the film. In the beginning it may be confusing when the story jumps from one to another, but once you start understanding what is going on, it is all good. Each story has a moral Halloween related. Halloween traditions your suppose to follow. There are plenty of good twist also in the end of each story. It also has some funny comedic relief every now and then. This wont be the scariest movie you ever watch, but it is one of the best Halloween(Halloween not horror) movies you will see. I recommend this movie to anyone. This will def be another cult classic.
Added Also after you watch this film you should Wiki it. It list all the tie ins between the stories and there might be some you missed.-Super Nova
U
Underworld - 7.5/10
Being a scifi movie it has a lot of corny and amateurish fighting and shooting scenes. Real flashy stuff in the movie [setting, vehicles, characters, weapons, etc]. Plus it has Kate F-ing Beckinsale. It also contains the usual "nobody who has potential" character. Decent but predictable plot. -M4A1
Underworld Evolution - 7/10
Same as above, but this time the "nobody who has potential" becomes the "nobody who is a god of war". Naked Kate is M4A1 approved -M4A1
Underworld Rise of the Lycans - 8.5/10
This movie is a prequel, and it should be watched before the other two. But the ending scene with Selene [Kate Beckinsale] had spoilers; avoid this and definitely watch it before the other two. Great action and typical Romeo/Juliet story line. In my opinion the better of the three [even if it's missing Kate ]. Even though it is a prequel, it was released last in the UW series. And it leaves sort of an unfinished feeling [no cliffhanger ending]. -M4A1

Where the Wild Things Are - 7.5/10
The trailers gave the feel that movie was going to be a heart warming, fun, wild movie for kids and adults to enjoy. I noticed a lot of parents brought their kids in, and as I was watching the movie I started noticing that this movie was a bit dark and something I would watch in class about abnormal psychology. So I was def. caught off guard and I bet a lot of parents were too. It's kinda bittersweet b/c I thought the movie was going to be geared towards another direction but got something else. I still liked it b/c I'm all about that abnormal psych stuff. It's an interesting film to watch and keep in mind that you are suppose to be watching what the Kid (Max) feels in his situation not him going nuts and having fun with an uplifting feel. I could tell a lot of parents were a bit disappointed when they left the movie.
Bottom Line: Good movie and worth checking out just know that it isn't going to be a happy no storyline movie and think about what it felt like when you were a kid and got in trouble and wanted or did run away. -invaders
Where the Wild Things Are- 6.4/10
First off, I was around when the book came out, but don't recall reading it. How to describe this movie? Let's see; DIFFERENT, for starters. Watching this film, I think I was kinda of laughing at it, or watching it like, "WTF?!" most of the time. It's PG, in yet I don't think it's for kids. The cinematography is nice, though. The settings, "wild things", etc, all look very well done. I just think the movie is weird; a failed attempt at a modern day Labryinth, if you must say. Also, the music is the funniest thing you'll ever hear. If you're going to watch this film, watch it high. IMO, only way to actually enjoy it. -N!KEHEAD
Whip It - 6/10
Hmmm def. a chick flick. My gf loved it and speaking from a guys point of view it was surprisingly okay. Cookie cut movie about a girl not wanting to conform to her mothers ways of raising her through beauty pageants and what not, and finding herself by joining a Roller Derby team. Girls from the audience were cheering "Babe Ruthless" on which made the experience more enjoyable. I liked it b/c it isn't your typical teen rebellious movie.
Bottom Line: If you are or know a girl that is aged 16-19 this will be a good movie for them. Overall though, it was an enjoyable movie to watch with your girl. -invaders
X
X-men Origins: Wolverine - 7.5/10
The first half was amazing. Excellent action scenes, great way of showing how Logan becomes the character he is, and great way of including new characters rather than reusing the old ones. All the war scenes were awesome, too bad that was for a very short part of the beginning half. Being said, the beginning half was better to me than the other X-men films....but the second half . Great way to already ruin a character like Deadpool and the 2nd half leaves a lot of unanswered and new questions that hopefully gets addressed in the sequel or one of the other planned Origins films.-M4A1

Zombieland- 6.1/10
This movie was a real letdown. I was so hyped to see this, expecting to crack a rib. Left the theater stonefaced. The action was bleh; there was hardly any! The comedy was cliche and bland. Focused far too much on the two teen stars romance. The guest appearance was pretty funny, but only lasted about 10 minutes. This film, IMO, is more of a watch online. I know I'll get flamed for this, but it's just my opinion. -N!KEHEAD
Zombieland 8.5/10
Smart approach to a trite concept by Hollywood. Kind of like a Superbad meets Dawn of the Dead. Liked all the characters and thought each event was plausible. The highlight of the movie for me was when they went to BM's mansion and the Hostess truck with snowballs. -M4A1
Zombieland - 8.5/10
I know this movie already has 2 reviews on here but I feel like chiming in as well. First off, I am a HUGE zombie fan and I thought this movie was awesome b/c besides "Shaun of the Dead" there have been a lot of weak comedy/zombie movies and I've been anxiously waiting for a good one to come out and my prayers were answered with Zombieland. I usually like my zombie movies serious but I thought this was nicely done and quite refreshing from the other releases like "Fido" and "Flight of the Living Dead." So if you are a zombie fan you can def. appreciate this and is def. a must watch!
Bottom line: If you like thinking about Zombie situations or love zombies in general, this is for you! -invaders
Zombieland - 5.5
If you're into mind blowing zombie flicks. This is right for you. The movie does not have a main plot. The characters are only doing what they want to do. Go to the amusement park or find twinkies. If you want zombie flicks check out the 28 Days Later/28 weeks Later.-TheFameGame _________________
