Thansk for answers guys! Thumbs Up
I remember Prof. K in his review said that with XX foot sits a little high of the ground...coupled with strange outsole shape and un-traditional cut, are there problems with stability?
Lastly, how XX accomodate wide feet? My feet is indeed wide-as you can see from the avatar Very Happy

Hmm...simply getting into the shoe will be a pain...as the throat of the XX is fairly stingy as compared to most other shoes.

In terms of stability -- I thought they were incredibly stable. Though the outsole's raised IPS pods serve as the contact point for the shoe against the hardwood, the outrigger, while recessed from the herringbone pods, still serves its purpose when you're moving laterally and should still hold you firmly.

Thanks Nick, always very helpful...
What about XIX? Are they good enough comparing to today's best shoes? What shoe will you personally recommend for a 6-footer\165lbs who tends to fast-paced game with stability and court feel as main priorities?
Should i look at Jordans at all?

Hey JJ--
I'm not Nick, but I'll throw in my 2 cents...

The XIX was a great shoe, and I would put it as a second place finish for the "performance on court" category among Jordan's behind the XIV. I think the XIX definitely would hold its own among today's shoes, but there are lots of current models that may be easier to get as well as get decent discounts on! Honestly man, some of the most popular shoes out right now actually ARE amazing shoes. You are similar in size to myself, so I assume what would be good for me would be good for you. The Zoom Soldier III is great for stability and court feel, and is also very light and responsive (but it can still feel a little bulky, it is minmal though). I also have been playing in the Flight Club outdoors, and that shoe seems to really suit my game. While the Flight Club seems to do well here on the message boards, I have yet to see many people playng in them around me and am feeling like it gets passed over more than it should as a quality shoe for the court. If you are a diehard Jordan fan, I'd also recommend the True Flight if you can get it for under $100 (not worth the $140 it retails for new). The True flight isn't built as a stability shoe, but it more than holds its own if you are under 200 lbs.

Thanks! I played in retro XIV myself, Really good shoe but something was wrong with forefoot cushioning-it's like zoom bag was only partially under the ball of my foot, like they misplaced it more towards the heel...idk, maybe crappy retros quality. Also, i'd like a shoe that a little wider at forefoot. Zoom Kobes I were ideal comfort-wise and forefoot staility was great but fit at the heel was too generic and the heel wasn't as stable as XIV's heel due to soft and jelly-ish cushioning. A shoe with forefoot fit\comfort of Zoom Kobe I and heel fit of XIV would be ideal for me. I played in XXI PE and while fit was good the forefoot cushoining was non-existant and sole was like a wooden plank...unnatural.
Maybe Zoom Kobe II or III worth trying aside from Soldier III and True Flight?

^ The Kobe II is an awesome shoe, unless the collar gives you problems. The court feel is exceptional - one of the best I've ever played in, if not the best. But the problem for me is that the heel counter absolutely killed my achilles. I've heard the same thing from a lot of other people, and I've also heard people (like Nick) say it was never an issue for them. Stability is awesome though, thanks to the footbucket. As much as I wanted to like it though, it hurt so bad that I could only play like 2 times in it. If you have a chance to try a pair on, definitely do that before buying. If they work for you though, it's an outstanding shoe.

I agree 100% on the ST not having the achilles issue, unfortunately, the fit isn't the same either. It is hard for me to get them tight enough to play in. When I have them fully laced, the bottom strap has so much slack it almost touches the ground. I don't have narrow feet either through the forefoot. The shoe is exceptionally comfortable - the tongue is awesome - similar to the feel of the LeBron V - but the stability just isn't there for me - so much so that I never really wanted to play in them.

Speaking of the LeBron V, have you given that one a try?

Hmm...I'd definitely give either the White/Navy or Black/Red LeBron V a shot....GREAT shoe. The cushioning is so substantial and really lasts.

I reeeeeeally liked the Kobe II, but I also wore them with a sock just above the collar of the shoe so that they didn't cause any irritation. The achilles area and collar are VERY harshly sculpted and you've gotta try them on in person before deciding on them. Along with the XX3, it's one of the biggest Love/Hate shoes I've seen in quite some time. I also preferred the black/yellow colorway, as the traction felt a bit stickier than the white herringbone on the Lakers colorway. One of the most in-control shoes I've ever worn though. Whenever I wore them I was more likely to attack and pull up more often. Very aggressive shoe with great low-to-the ground feel and awesome cushioning....being that the Zoom Air is embedded directly underfoot in the sockliner. The fact there's no conventional midsole is a reason why your foot sits so low to the ground too. The Kobe II Ultimate can be a bit rough in terms of the toe box and heel fit, a lot of people had irritation/ toe blister problems, while the ST versions are VERY plush with a full length neoprene innersleeve. The only problem is the ST has a sloppy fit and the straps are pretty annoying in that they flap around when velcroed securely. Big surprise, but I cut the midfoot straps off my Orca colorway...

As for the XIX, I'd definitely look for a pair of the SE's. The traction and inner comfort of the shoe is great, and the dual outrigger system (forefoot lateral & heel medial) make it incredibly supportive. The fit of the shoe might also be more accommodating if you're looking for something somewhat wide and closer to the Kobe 1. I have an average to narrow foot, so I didn't care for the Kobe 1. Unless you go up a half size, the Kobe IV is a great shoe but will be too snug for you most likely.

Lots of rambling....Hope that helps!

Thanks for all the tips. I think i will go for XIX first.. BTW, are there difference between regular and SE model besides lace-covers?
Also, old warriors like XII and XIII can be considered as options or they're inferior comparing to shoes you've already described?

The xix and xix se's are very similar. I think you can get a better, more comfortable fit on the se since the shroud doesn't get in the way. The xix se is in my top 5 favorite hoop shoes with the xx3s, xviiis, zoom soldier 3, and lebron vs. I also really like the xivs, Kobe 2s, lebron 2s, and ultraflights.

I was able to get a DS pair of xix se for a good price off the boards a couple months back. Good luck finding a pair they are worth it.

^ that's a GREAT list.

I'd say those are my exact favorites, but I'd add in the Garnett III too.

I totally agree in going for the SE too in favor of the straight XIX...not need for all the fusiness w/ the cover!
