Lol, sounds like you've got a problem there... Both of mine can rotate freely, infinite rotations. But yes, they certainly require a different skill set than a normal straight stitch, and take some time to get used to. _________________ WWW.FALSEQUEST.COM |

Both of my machines are Adlers (30-7 and 30-5), basically the German version of the Singer 29 Series.
Their built like tanks. _________________ WWW.FALSEQUEST.COM |

Getting the sole off is the easy part!
Crafting such a shapely toe box and the way it sits on the sole is what has me interested. I've yet to work on that style of shoe. I've never really been a fan of Air Maxes (excluding One's), but I'm dying to get my hands on a pair English NB's. _________________ WWW.FALSEQUEST.COM |

True but I did it just for shits and giggles lol.
Pic
The very back of the heel really has me puzzled, nike must be using some real nice glue at the factory when gluing it all to the soles. There pretty much nothing for it to grip to.
When it comes to AF1/DUNKS you dont really need that bottom "plate" (as I call it I guess) that the whole upper is sewn to before placed into the soles. But here I think it would be needed when making a recon of a pair of these. at least IMO this way the upper actually has something to hold onto when glued back. While the glue is drying you could firmly push and hold the rubber sole part into the upper and have 1-2 c-clamps on the back heel part holding it all down making sure you get a nice bond there.
Also I dont recommended anyone using the heat gun around the air bubble unless you really know YOUR heat gun and how it works. IMHO I would use a woodburner once I get back there in that area. |

Im not one for keepin "secrets" myself, but none of this was really a secret to begin with. I know its been mentioned numerous times before as far as HOW to get the upper off. I mean the pics let you see the instructions already given...but none of its gonna help you till you get in there yourself and get your hands dirty (figuratively and literally). The 1st time you do it, pics or no pics, youre probably gonna mess up....it comes with the territory, but its how you learn. So I mean if youre not willing to get in there and try the stuff you've already been told, then you cant really be offended if no one tells you what they did. Once you start doing it, it all works itself out anyway
shit, I've seen guys work on cars and choppers for years....but it doesnt mean Im gonna be able to go out and build a bike just cause I saw them do it...you learn by doing, and removing the upper is really the easiest part of the process. _________________ people dont know what they like, they like what they know |

true technique can only be learned not taught, but you have to learn where to start at least. The way i learned how to do it was when a friend put a pair of shoes in the dryer and the glue came undone lol obviously the next step was to take out the stiching and go buy a heat gun. _________________ User Group Of The Year

Yeah this wasn't really a secret. Like I said its been mentioned and brought up plenty of times. I just thought I would toss some pics in here of the process. This was just to give a little visual understanding on how its all comes apart. Removing the upper is one small step (the easiest step) Duplicating the panels onto new materials and sewing it all together is a whole other thing. _________________

The irony of it is people will still ask the same questions over and over. Its solely dependent on the individual to have the desire and determination to learn and move forward.
Simply put, you cannot learn if you don't really want to learn. _________________ WWW.FALSEQUEST.COM |
