^^^ bro i just took a look at ur listings & r those raptors the ones u mentioned before?? if they are, baby oil will definitely bring color out, but u (or whomever buys them), will need to add baby oil once in a while becuz of the water damage they took!! i had the same experience like 6/7 years ago & i put a wet rag on them and the suede got destroyed. it sucks that the suede on these are so sensitive!! |
I tried it earlier and they look great, thanks for the help. I don't know if I want to sell them now, the way the looked is the only reason I don't wear them. I don't feel comfortable wearing stuff in that condition, I got them in a trade and thought I could clean them up. Glad I came in this forum today and peeped that other guy talking about using baby oil on his shadows. |
yea, baby oil is what i've been recommending for a while to ISSer's, along with some good sneaker doctors. it really does work wonders. _________________

thanks. i bought it today after reading this. which would be a better way to use it, putting the shoes in the wash and adding rit or putting rit on a rag and scrubbing it in? I bought the powder version btw (in case there was a solid bar, idk ) |
the powder is also what I used and I don't think it's available in any other form
What I did was filled a small container with very hot water and added about half an envelope of rit to it and stirred it with a toothbrush to help dissolve it. I wet the mesh with a clean rag and then using the same toothbrush, I would dip in the solution and then brush the mesh followed by wiping the area with a wet rag and repeating the process about 4-5 times. The rit acts almost like bleach and stinks too but the end results were worth it because the shoes looked even whiter when they dried |
thanks a lot..
can anyone tell me however if I can use this http://turtlefeathers.net/text/angelus/dye.html to paint certain parts of the olive material that were scratched on olive 9? _________________ IF I HIT YOU UP ABOUT A TRADE THE SHOES ARE IN MY SIG!! RIGHT HERE!

I went back and re-read your post with the problem with the IXs and I think posting a pic of the problem might get you the answer you're looking for. I checked out the catalog for the angelus suede dyes and I think spice is a good match for the olives but it might not be necessary depending on how bad the damage to the suede is _________________ Always on the lookout for 11.5-12

house paint is usually either latex (water based) or oil based enamel which only comes in gloss or high-gloss finishes and a pain in the butt for clean up time. Since neither are made to be used on flexible surfaces, your job won't last very long and you'd end up doing it over and over again. Most of the people who do restorations recommend angelus brand acrylic paints because they're durable and work well on the flexible surfaces of shoes. Not saying you can't use anything else but you'll probably save yourself the hassle of repainting over and over again. _________________ Always on the lookout for 11.5-12

hey bro, its highly not recommended, because you can possibly mess up the 3m material. nothing really you can do, but clean out the creasing with a soft brush, and warm water. _________________
