ok i need some serious help. Not exactly sure if this is the right thread but here goes. Our family computer is 2-3 years old and in the last year or so we have been experiencieng many virus problems. We had 2 or 3 adware infections and got rid of those with Norton and Malwarebytes succesfully. So we thought everything was cleared up and then our computer started doing this thing were when we shut it down it would get about halfway through the boot and completely restart. to get it to start succesfully we have to go into the boot menu and start it through that. My dad talked to a computer technician and he said it was most likely a virus. Can someone please help me determine what this is and how to fix it. Thanks.

Sorry for the late reply but from the looks of this, the virus prolly has corrupted some of the OS files, even if you have gotten rid of the virus, the files are already damaged. You can either do a system restore on the date before all these problems started for I do a complete reinstall/reformat of the system. _________________

I may be wrong but I don't think you actually need AV software for Mac. |
