OG White Infareds!!!!!!! I restored these for my friend n was one of the hardest restorations i have done. I know they dont look that great but for what they looked like before I think they look pretty good. When i got these to do they were literally falling apart and crumbling. As you can see in the pics the soles were almost completely detereated.
Steps I took to complete:
1) Gutted the sneaker out
2) Filled in missing pieces with "special putty" that hardens
3) Painted whole shoe white
4) Drew in the infared parts by hand
5) Painted the infared part
6) Finally finished

^^^ i guess you did as best as you could... those things were beat! but im really not feeling the paint job. Its sloppy and just looks horrible. and good idea with the putty, but you didnt smooth it out so it looks messy. are they wearable?

Rockem Jays 93- While applying the putty, did you by any chance use a tool to smooth out the areas? A smooth rock would have helped a lot and a ceramics tool. Not bad, seeing how difficult this must have been, i would have approached it a bit differently.

Jordan V OG Cracked midsole swap

Here we have a pair of OG cracked fire red 5s, I used a retro pair as a donor. I used different techniques and equipment to take out the donor pair (which was the hardest part/you will see in my pictures.) and i had to take out the rotten/cracked midsole, which both were very time consuming.

Enjoy.

Before

CRACKED 5S

Here i am showing the og pair of the 5s which i had to remove the midsole and keep the sole to glue onto the donor midsole.

DONOR

WORKING WITH THE DONOR PAIR

Here im using a blowdryer which was the only logical way to melt the factory glue so we can manage to take out the retro midsole(donor)

GUTTING OUT THE 5S Laughing

(THE REMAINS.)

THE SOLE FROM THE OG SHOE WHICH I WILL GLUE ONTO THE RETRO DONOR MIDSOLE AND THEN APPLY BOTH TO THE OG SHOE

HERE I AM WORKING ON THE 2ND DONOR SHOE, THIS TIME I SHOW U GUYS A LITTLE SECRET

HERE I AM GUTTING OUT THE MIDSOLE OFF THE DONOR WITH THE AID OF A HEATED KNIFE TIPPED WOODBURNER

result= BOOYAH!

AFTER LONG HOURS OF BLOWDRYING AND WOODBURNING AND BURNING/CUTTING MY FINGERS THE MIDSOLE HAS FINALLY CAME OFF!!
OOPS I ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION THAT I HAD TO CLEAN THE LEATHER TO TAKE OFF ALL THAT DIRT AND USED A CREAM LIKE PAINT TO MAKE THE PAINT LOOK NEW AS POSSIBLE

AFTER TAKING OUT THE MIDSOLE I GLUED THE SOLE AND UPPERS OF THE OGS AND THE RESULT

-REPAINT THE FRONT TOE PIECE
- REPAINTED THE UPPERS AND CLEANED THE UPPERS
- THEN APPLIED THE SOLE AND DONOR MIDSOLE WITH 2 GLUES
-WAITED 2 DAYS AND THATS YOUR RESULTS!
-THE NIKE AIR AND #23 WAS ALSO A BIT FADED WHICH NEED RENEWING I USED A MIXTURE OF WATER AND PAINT.

sorry for this caps lock Embarassed
this was a restoration from fixitmoe. I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THANK YOU

The putty is going to start cracking after a few wears, also, putty shrinks as well, so that's not going to last. Should just do a sole swap.
