Ice and rest is the best thing you can do for that, and make sure you don't try and come back too soon like I did. |
isnt it too late for ice though isnt it? mine wasnt as swollen as urs and was at a lower point. i guess its best to see a doctor | Not necessarily, it doesn't hurt.
I still try to flex/move it and when it it starts to hurt/swell again, I just ice it again.
Does your swell after you play?
Mine always swells, even just a little after I play. |
its still swollen actually. its not flexible anymore and wen i poke the swollen area its soft |

I'm a pretty skinny dude and I want to gain some weight.
Is there a way to increase my hunger?
I'm already taking muscle milk and I eat when i'm suppose to.
Would gluttony help? or what?
thanks for you help _________________ Lebron James: Friendlies Pack/ UWR

I'm about 5' 6", 120 lbs. I started working out a little bit at home, just some simple starter stuff. The only reason I began working out a little was because I was sick and tired of guys the same height as me bullying me around in the paint while playing basketball. My friend, who's the same height as me but probably 20-30 lbs. heavier is constantly able to push me around. I'm pretty skinny, I'd say more on the cut/defined side and I'd like to keep it that way. I'm looking to build/maintain chest, shoulders (probably most important to me), abdominals, and biceps/triceps. To put it simply, the shape of a typical 2 gaurd. Any simple pointers to do so? I've been keeping it pretty basic, none of those protein shakes or anything. |
so you just want to make yourself look better by just working the "show muscles"? hmmm wanna be a better ball player? wanna know why theyre pushing you around? you dont have a strong base...no foundation. you didnt even consider legs or back...what are chest, shoulders, arms, and abs gonna help you with?....little if you dont have a strong base. work on your legs if you wanna be a stronger ball player. no excuse about getting your legs big....thats bs and just another excuse to not do it. plus itll had to your hops and add range to your jumper. forget arms...just get your legs, chest, back, shoulders in shape and youre good to go....none of this i wanna tone bs. you keep that state of mind youll still be 120 and being pushed around in the paint. |
Sorry I asked. |
he's right tho, none of that is really gonna help you unless you have strong legs. ive pushed around guys in the paint that are a lot taller than me and probably have a stronger upper body than me too but i can push em around. what muscles do you think boxing out uses ? or jumping ? or running ? like he said it will increase your range, make you run faster, and more explosiveness off the dribble which a 2 gaurd should have. Don't get me wrong, you still need to work those muscles out, but your main focus should be your legs. Also if your a 2, how come your in the paint so much ? |
I was shaking my head because of the manner he replied with, not because of the actual advice. The weird thing is I have no problem boxing out, I'm actually successful in keeping my man away from the rebound. The reason I'm in the paint so much is cause my friend that I gaurd like to drive a lot or else likes to set up in the paint for a closer shot at the basket. I don't really have a problem with range or running as I'm pretty good at both which puzzles me. |
if you have no problem boxing out, then you should have no problem in the paint. its the same thing. and you could always work on your range, running, explosiveness, and jumping. which is all legs. you'd be able to jump higher, get a quicker first step for drives, and just more agile. |
mmm my answer might have been a little too aggressive, but i still stand by it. i dont like to see people fall into the same trap everyone else does...thinking that working their arms makes them stronger overall....you gotta look at everything as a whole though. but as JM said...if you have no problem boxing out then you really shouldnt have a problem getting pushed around in the paint. its all about your foundation....i would say your stance and positioning is important but strength-wise... your legs, abs, back are more important than chest, arms, shoulders. im not saying neglect any muscle, im just saying you gotta work on everything to be better. rather than just pick and choose the muscles you want...you should just work on everything....think of it this way...the exercises you hate to do or the muscles you dont think about working out...will make you better in the long run. everyone starts out just doing arms, chest, shoulders...hell thats how i started. but trust me on this, you create a solid base with every part...and youll see faster gains than most beginners...and youll reach your first plateau at a higher weight. ive seen it with a lot of people i train. |
Jkim. I also have the same problem as you and, as a matter a fact, I'm in the same exact position as you. However, all the people giving you advice are correct. Although his answer was a little agressive, all the info is true. But did you know working you chest and legs and shoulders, not only makes you stronger and they won't push you around as much in the paint, also can make your biceps and triceps bigger. I learned this with experiment. However I am still skinny becuase I have been slacking a lot. But yeah, like they said, focus on the lower body for a strong base and you should be good. Hope I could help out. If anyone thinks I am wrong about anything, please correct me. I don't wanna give out something incorrect.

I used it a few times with no problems?

honestly a 1200 calorie gainer is overkill, your gonna sh%$ it out anyway, and its probebly maltodextrin and whey concentrate (think sugar and low grade protein) cyto gainer at 580 is fine, add some milk, peanut butter, etc etc and you will have a lot of quality calories. |
