| I've been out of the DJ game since about 2006 and I was going through my closet and I was digging through some of my DJ old equipment and I found an older version of Final Scratch that someone gave me a like 2 years ago. I hooked it up to my turntables and it's pretty awesome. Makes me wish they had this back when I was in college so I didn't have to spend my time lugging records to each gig. Well I think it's great and it's an older version, 1.5, which must be at least 4 years old. From what I've heard and seen out at the clubs the industry standard right now is Serato. Can any of you tell me what improvements have been made in the whole laptop/vinyl interfaces since 2005 and why Serato is better? |

I guess what I really want to know is if there's any good reason why I should shell out mad money for Serato (or whatever is new) if I'm using Final Scratch 1.5. Thanks for the wisdom about Serato though |

woo hoo! that was the point
trying to get a gig with this mix, going to hand out to some club managers / promoters soon!
and phangirl, I can't judge final scratch as I have never used it. But Serato has never given me any problems, and the interface is very easy to use. If anything, I would youtube videos of both interface and being used in action to see what the differences are. Somewhere in this thread it says FS is geared for mixers while Serato is for scratchers..

i hope it helps! _________________
