i want to start producing but i have no idea where to actually start at, i've messed around with pro tools and fruity loops but nothing to serious and i've been looking at digital audio classes at the art institue. any suggestions on how to really get started?
go to warbeats.com and watch the tutorials.
theres was also this guy named "lion"[i think] and he made a really good tutorial for beginners but i cant find it. it used to be on Undergroundhiphop.com you can try to type in Lion fl tutorials and you might be able to find his website. All you really need to do is practice everyday and you'll get it. its not rocket science.

hey guy i want to know what kind of program i can use to seperate the beats from vocals. and if there is a program out their that i can buy to remix songs with out the dj equipment. thanks in advance
look up sample inversion.
there are a lot of programs you can use to remix songs without the equipment. but even though thats what's taking over right now Hardware is always the best. get some turntables. get good at mixing with them. and you'll be able to mix cd, mp3, ect.
btw. heres a sample inversion tut from Warbeats. that dude nfx knows his sh!t

Hey, producer/engineer heads, how about some insight, ey~?:
So in recent days I have been tryna record some tracks of my own. I've noticed though that when I record vocals, when I'm actually doing them they sound perfect. However, when I listen to the playback, it sounds like I am a millisecond off/slightly behind.
Any ideas on what might be the cause of this and things I can do to correct it~? Just as added info the program I'm using currently is Sony Acid 6.0 and I'm using a mic I just bought at a store one day. My computer is not some slum, either. Also, the place where I am recording is not sound proofed/egg crated/foamed out and is kind of open, so I'm wondering if thats making a difference as well...
So yea, any thoughts~? I'm tryna make good music of the best quality I can here with what I've got and don't want what I put out to be hampered by suspect sound quality. Any input is appreciated. _________________ D.C. Metro Area------>Yea, I am from here. "One of the keys to happiness in life is to be an active participant in the communities you enjoy." What's the best equipment to use?

It could be both the room and the mic your using. especially if it not a good quality mic. are you using a interface or is it straight usb?

The mic I am using is plugged directly into the back of my comp, but its not a usb one. I was thinking it may be the mic too; I just needed one real quick, so I kinda grabbed the first one I saw at the store that day. I think im definitely going to try and step the quipment level up, asap. Thanks for the suggestion tho. _________________ D.C. Metro Area------>Yea, I am from here.
