i agree.
i flashed the hero rom on my g1 and my mytouch, and the Sense UI is amazing. then i messed with my coworkers hero and its even better! it lags alot on the g1 and a little less on the mytouch...
check out this hero forum for a bunch more stuff like apps and hacks.
im not sure if everything works for both versions of the hero, just read up and make sure. _________________

soon. gizmodo just did a walk through and google officially announced it.
its unsure as to what handsets will get the update, since it first officially comes out on the motorola droid.
but as usual with android, someone will make a rom you can apply to your phone.
heres the walkthrough on gizmodo.
im really looking forward to google maps with FREE navigation. more here _________________

^ for the google navigation, you have to have the phone compatible with it, I don't think diamond and touch pro will be compatible. _________________

well it currently is only being released on android 2.0... which so far is only the motorola droid.
diamond/touch pro dont even run android OS so when they initially launch the new Gmaps, i doubt they'll get it anytime soon. _________________

its kinda like converting from Windows to Linux. people tends to stick with the familiarity _________________

i wouldnt say linux.. main reason people dont switch to linux is that its basically unpolished. its definitely not for everyone.
id say its like windows and mac. theyre both great os's, but just a bit different. _________________

whether you like to admit it or not, android isn't polished right now. the 2.0 will be but not the current OS. and mac is iphone's OS.
ps. there ARE some linux that looks better is 'polished' a bit _________________
