htc hero looks nice but does anyone know how to put the superhero rom on the g1? Ive tried but i didnt understand the steps into doin it.. please if anyone, can you guide me through it? lol

have you rooted the phone before?
here's the instructions
1. Rename to update.zip (the downloaded folder)
2. put on root of sd (don't put the files in any folder, put it like the 'desktop' of sd cards)
3. ALT-W to wipe
4. Then ALT-S to flash
5. After it boots use the apps to sd app as this is a must for this CERTAIN build!!!!
then move dalvik cache...reboot
step 3 and 4 are pretty explanatory i think.

yeah ive rooted and un rooted my phone plenty of times lol.. but what is dalvik cache??

when your phone turns on, theres something called DalvikVM that scans through your apps and framework and it stores its dependency it the dalvik cache folder to optimize all the application's bytecode. therefore, when you use a new ROM, it takes a long time to start up, however, once the Dalvik get use to scanning the bytecode, the speed will be faster. however, people suggest moving the dalvik cache saves a lot of memory.

So Im trying to understand a bit about HTC's Android setups.
Nothing like craptastical windows mobile and not a google based phone.
Is the Hero available with any service or what?? It looks like a better G1...

i think thats just putting your apps on your sd to save memory on your g1. don't worry about doing anything extra if your phone works fine. oh and you welcome =] next time look for info on xda-developers or android community for g1. all instructions should be on there (probably better than mine)

i dont know if you like wm6.5? but you should really try it cause its a lot faster because the home page and programs tab is a lot simpler

icic, well let me know if you ever try it. after upgrading to a fuze, i have option of having both TF3D and titanium layout, but that eat up too much memory. im in love with what i have right now. cant ask for anything better (may be touch pro 2 will be nicer haha)
