Created / Edited By: BryanP - Unkle
Due to the wide-spread of fake unkles out there, I had to write this to HELP you spot the OBVIOUS errors of fake dunkles (which probably populate the majority of the fake unkle population). Most of the time you should be able to spot the fakes just using this guide alone.
Pattern stays fixed, remember that. There are some subtle things like the placement of those ghostly looking guys in the middle of the shoe that can throw things off.
Also, remember, some people just jack other people's pictures, so you may actually be looking at real UNKLEs. (thats when you need to know about that guy's history)
Here are some pics you can refer to that I took just right now so you guys have some sort of "guide."
Main things to take consideration of:
1) Black prints on the shoes should be PRINTS, not paint. It should have leftover pixels of some sort near the edges... Look at the pictures below to see what I'm talking about.
2) AGAIN, PATTERN STAYS MAINLY FIXED. I HAVE HELPED MANY PEOPLE FIND FAKES BY PAYING ATTENTION TO THE SUBTLENESS OF THE PATTERNS. (the pattern of the black prints on the shoes AS WELL as the "ghosts" figures on the middle area). The middle graphics CAN HAVE SLIGHT HORIZONTAL SHIFTINGS TO THE RIGHT, but not to the point where it cuts HALF of the smaller ghost's head. Ear and both eyes should be visible, but I've seen legit unkles (including my own) that have cut partially cut shoulders. I have not seen any UNKLES that are real that have cut the small ghost cut in half.
UPDATE: ON BIGGER SIZED SHOES (SZ 12-13) there is a SHIFT with the circular pattern on the pink nubuck (the pink circular thing near the middle panel of the toebox). If you look at mine:
the circular pattern EXTENDS to the other side. However in bigger sizes, they tend to have it extend to HALF of it, with the half faced towards the top of the shoe, not the middle panels.
3) Color of the suede should be faint pink, not hot pink. (obvious)
4) The white paint shouldn't be over-oversaturated (look at the pics below)
Here's a picture of the side of the toe (notice the print):
Pay attention to the pattern. In mine, some white did come off near the midsole, but pay attention to how the paint doesn't overly saturate the middle:
Some of Hazard's pictures are misleading because it appears to be (but it's actually their lighting). I hosted one of their GOOD pictures of the middle. Notice it's the same saturation:
Here is how the back should look. Notice the pattern and again how it shouldn't look like it's painted onto the suede:
Compare yours to how the pattern is on mine (notice how you can't really spot any sign of fake such as pixels and whatnot from the prints if all you have are "full shoe" pictures. You'll NEED closeup pics as well::
Inside view:
Closer pic of the back area:
The wing area above the swoosh SHOULD look like this (in fakes there are subtle differences) Since it's a print, it should look exactly like that.:
Here's how the UNKLE lace wing area should look:
Hope that helps.
This is a GUIDE to HELP you spot fakes. There may be really accurate fake dunks out there so the best way is to buy from someone you KNOW has real shoes for sure or at least from a reputable dealer that knows his/her stuff.
A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE USING OTHER PEOPLE'S PICTURES. MAKE SURE YOU VERIFY ITS THEIRS. (this means they use pictures of REAL UNKLES but they're frauds)
UNKLEs are hot so do not sleep guys, but don't be too desperate to buy some without checking for the obvious signs.
Happy Dunkle hunt!
Here are some fakes, see if you can spot the error yourself before looking at the answers below:
Answers:
First picture and second picture:
Didn't notice that did you? Look at the ghostly figures in the middle. Way off, yet very subtle.
Second picture:
If you didn't get this, then you need to study this guide a little bit more. _________________ PM me for - Private Sneaker Exchange

REAL Tiffany's = shoe on top
FAKE Tiffany's = shoe on bottom
1) Compare Swooshes: the body of a real Tiffany Dunk (1A) swoosh is straighter and more pointed at the tip than the fake (1B).
2) Compare crocodile seam-to-sole: the crocodile seam of a real Tiffany Dunk (2A) lines up perfectly with the indentation on it's sole (i.e. the 2 arrows line up). The crocodile seam of the fake Tiffany (2b) doesn't line up with the indentation on its sole.
3) Compare the distance between the swoosh and the lining: there's some distance between the swoosh of a real Tiffany (3A) and the inside lining. There isn't enough distance between the swoosh on the fake Tiff.
all the shoe with a white Chinese words on is Fake, the one beside is Real
Thanks and PM me for more info. _________________ PM me for - Private Sneaker Exchange

-The tongue is about 2-3cm longer after the top lace hole.

Fake
-The tongue is long and straight like a rectangle
-There too short like the stop at the last lace hole
See its like a upside down triangle
More Examples of Real ones
EXAMPLES of FAKE ones

I saw these on another site, and juz wanted to share wit ppl who might be
planning on getting a pair,
fake:
HOME RAYGUNS: real (home) rayguns have white laces laced on, and a
set of white laces in a bag, not a black one. And when u see the box label
compare the numbers they are different, like digit '1' is different from the
real box label, and the overall boldness of the numbers
Home Rayguns - 2 sets of WHITE LACES
Away Rayguns - 1 set of Black (Laced) and 1 set of White (Bag)
Real:
like i said i got this from another site _________________ PM me for - Private Sneaker Exchange

First off: Iron Maiden
The BIGGEST indication would be probably the FACE of the ghoul on the shoe.
Real:
Fake:
^Notice how there is no neck and the picture is blown up.
Also, the inside tag should indicate that it is a Promotional Sample, not an actual released dated shoe.:
Second:Volcano SB dunk.
As far as of now, I can't tell the main differences between fakes by tag or any of such. Here's how I can tell:
REAL:
FAKE:
The size of the SB bag is seriously off, first of all.
REAL:
FAKE:
The coloring is way OFF. The Island is actually much brighter. And also from the second pic, if you look closely on the sole, there is actually mispainted areas, and residue on the shoe from yellow paint), so look out for that.
REAL:
FAKE:
The Insole has alot to do with. The coloring is obviously different, whereas the REAL one is more orange, the Fake one seems to go over to the yellow side.
Thirdly:
Lunar Dunk(By the way, Happy Chinese New Year)
First off: BOXTAG
This is an example of the worst box tag i've ever seen in my life, and if you get jipped by this, you shouldnt be on this forum.
LACEBAG:same issue with the lace bag
REAL:
FAKE:
The MOON: This is the most important factor in telling fakes.
FAKE MOON:
Look Closely, this moon's top tip end is sharp and connects with the outer circle when it ends.
REAL MOON:
The tip curves inward before it ends.
Last thing:
Here's an example of a fake tag. I havent had a pair of volcanoes to say if there's a difference or not yet. If you have any corrections to make or suggest, please repost and tell me so, to inform all the members beforehand before making rash decisions. _________________ PM me for - Private Sneaker Exchange
