nice custome man. im really digging the paintjob. but question. i see your sock liner is like immaculate! whenevr i prep shoes the sock liner gets all dirty. should i mask it off? cuz i tried and it just gets peeled off. |

definitely mask it off! especially when the liner is a light color or has a darker color next to it. but as a rule I always mask it off. try using q-tips with small heads to get really close to the liner when its masked off and use a detail brush and be very careful when painting near it.
plus if you mask it random dirt and oil from your hands wont get on it after you take the gloves off and start painting...that gives the liner a real dingy dirty look you dont want.
btw what kind of tape are you using? just use regular masking tape and try to stay a little lighter on the acetone...that shit eats plastic, just imagine what its doing to the adhesive on the tape 
If you do that I dont think youll have any problems with dirty liners or peeling tape anymore

I want to expand this a bit more.
Did other colours come into mind while painting these? That burst itself plus the backtab could have been done in a soft/shy pink of some sorts. The shoe itself is amazing, I love the artwork  But I would have felt more if the pink had been put in. Try experimenting with laces, because I can see black working fr these, but white SB laces would put it on the spot too.

Thanks man! I would have done the burst in a pink but the customer wanted red so I had to go along with it . I also have black and white laces that go with this pair and they look awesome but I put them on when I was about to take photos and they didnt look so hot.
That said...no more UNKLES or similar pairs done by me after I release the photos of the paris mids I did. I wouldnt want my art poached and I felt really bad about doing it to Futura and Bernard Buffet.
NEVER AGAIN...
