"Q: How do I make the splatter effect?
A: Mask off anywhere you dont want paint to be. Then there are several ways to apply the splatter, some drop it from brushes at a high point and let gravity to the work. Some people goop in on their brushes and flick or throw it at the shoes. Some also blow the paint out of a straw to get the job done."
Can anyone shed some more light on this?
Im trying to do a "McFly' speckled midsole, and everything Ive been trying (flick paintbrush, push bristles on toothbrush) results in a very "fine" speckly effect.
Im looking for a "coarser" speckle look, as in each speck a little larger and further apart (hope that makes sense).
Any advice is much appreciated (This is my first custom).
EDIT: FYI Im using a water-based Airbrush paint called Createx

Yes.

where can i buy paint to paint my sneakers with?????
Online... google the brand you are looking for. The most popular brand of sneaker paint is sold at turtlefeathers and elsewhere.

How do I get the orange and the yellow on rayguns? What do I have to mix? What about the little green alien guy? Thanks guys, you can PM me the answers if you wish.
Mix leather paints to achieve the desired shade. You just have to paint the alien.

What is the material on the Griffeys? The stuff that makes up the majority of the upper?
And how do you clean it?
Also, should I use dull sandpaper on the front midsole of my WC 3s?

Preview (I know, not very creative):
You could paint the splatters on with a very fine brush. FWIW, I've never used Createx on shoes. _________________ The paradox is in the ugliness of vanity.

^thanks for the reply.
I used Createx b/c it was suggested to be fairly flexible (someone used it on an AM90 midsole w/ no issues) and so far it has held up for me on the "NIKE" on the heal panel.
I just found a "wire brush technique" for the speckle pattern, Im give it a shot soon and report back w/ details&results.
How can I possibly make the bottoms of the shoe light up? ik there are already the light up AF1's but I wanna add my own twist to it... _________________ *stayfreshcustomz*

Please post the results when you are done. Do you add anything to the createx? Good luck.

what would be the best thing to use to make the denim on them goofy boy lows black?? should i use dye or paint??
I have seen good results with fabric paint and art markers. A great example of the color change was posted in the last few pages of the new/minor customs sticky.

Where can I get alligator skin to put on my shoes (with a soldering iron)? and also, how do people make custom graphics on the soles. Paint will come off, so I'm hesitant to use that.

Does painting a beat shoe affect its possibility to crack, Ive painted shoes that have really bad creases. Even if painting them with stuffing inside, sometimes when stretching out the creases completely, a few cracks show; is this because of really deep crevices that might not be reached easily as opposed to a new sneaker with bare to no creasing at all? _________________ Subscribe: http://showtoprove.blogspot.com/

If you want to burn croc print into leather all you need is the soldering iron. You can draw the pattern with a pencil if need be. If you want to add alligator skin, go to a leather/hide/skin vendor...eBay has hides too. As for the insoles you can use printable canvas. It seems like screen printed fabric or painted leather would also work.

The problem that I think of is the creases might get extra paint and you goal is multiple thin even coats. TBH, I don't have exp. painting beat sneaks. _________________ The paradox is in the ugliness of vanity.

Ok, I get what you mean. Because it does look a bit darker on the creased pots, most likely build up of paint over the crevice in the leather. _________________ Subscribe: http://showtoprove.blogspot.com/

how do people make custom soles? do they just paint them and realize that it's going to come off quickly or is there a way to actually make them how you would like so that it lasts as long as a usual sole?
PM me with an answer please. _________________ Emayzing shoes. Hit me up at eweezy113@yahoo.com
