| I'm new to this board but nowhere near new to the sneaker game. I was rocking Gucci sneakers back in 1986, back when the canvas/leather joints were $115, the all leather were $155, and the hi-tops were $195 and they had boat/mocassin shoes that looked a lot like the all-leather sneakers also for $155. Jay cold bit the design of them with the S.Carter's a few years ago. Over the years Gucci sneakers have become more expensive and less attractive. Not only that, the mens sneakers are way too feminine looking, with plimsoles and leather frills and other nonsense. Their high top sneakers, as well as all the new high-end designer sneaker high tops are all horrific looking, especially the wack kanye west Louis Vuitton sneakers. If Gucci were to decide to go back with their old skool 80's look and also come out with classic velour 80's warmup suits, I'd be down to cop them .... until then their sneakers can stay on their shelves ..... I've probably gone through close to 400 pair of sneakers since the 80's and at this stage I'll stick with some shell-toe Adidas and Air Max 95's. BTW, anyone that saves their money can get these high-end sneakers but big deal. Hmmmm, $400 on a pair of designer sneakers, or $60 on some shelltoe Adidas and $340 in my pocket .... the mathematics on that one is easy. |
