I'd say 50/50 chance we match. And yeah, I'm not sure we actually keep him if we do.
Just sucks watching all these contenders get better while we have to fight just to stay competitive. _________________ Denver Broncos: (6-1; 1st AFC West; 2nd AFC)

Not that I believe everything I hear or Ric Bucher lol but I was just watching ESPN and he said us and the mavs are talking to Sheed. So I wonder if that Boston offer to Sheed for MLE didn't go through or is false. _________________ Drunk

I believe its true. Boston offered him 2 - I'm guessing he's just seeing if somebody will give him 3.
| Quote: | Now that the Dallas Mavericks have reached a verbal agreement with former Orlando Magic center Marcin Gortat, it’s clear that free agent Brandon Bass will have to find another suitor.
“If anything this will help move things along and could pave the way for a sign-and-trade,” said Tony Dutt, Bass’ agent upon learning of the Gortat deal.
Orlando can still match the Mavericks’ offer since Gortat is a restricted free agent but it’s uncommon to pay a reserve player the full mid-level exception.
When asked about the possibility of Bass in Orlando, essentially swapping places with Gortat, Dutt replied, “Orlando is a great organization. I’ll leave my comment at that.”
Last season, Bass averaged 8.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game off the bench for Dallas. |

^ Edit: beat me to it. I hope we do that. If we do that would we have enough to offer Sheed? _________________ Drunk

It would all depend on how much Rich Devos is willing to spend. Speaking of which, Rich DeVos is a rich motherfker. He's like the third or fourth wealthiest owner in basketball. Now, I'm not one to tell a motherfker how to spend their money...but damn, what's the point of owning a team if you're not going to go all in when you can? LA adding Artest. Cleveland probably going to add another great piece. Maybe a Marion or Ariza type. Boston adds Sheed. And no offense to Brandon Bass - but what the fk?
I did read that we had "interest" in Ariza...but that was from the same guy who said Dwight was fuming over the Vince trade. Blah. _________________ Denver Broncos: (6-1; 1st AFC West; 2nd AFC)

I really hope we get Sheed I mean that shit would be nuts. I heard Sheed and Dwight are boys. so maybe ?!?! lol
On the Bass thing I really like the idea, he is pretty explosive and thats something we lack and need. I remember watching him in a few games, He would score like 15 pts in a quick 15-20 mins. _________________ Drunk

| Quote: | Quick was on 1080 again just now. Only a couple of interesting tidbits...
*He talked to Hedo, seems like a great fit character wise. Hedo was honest that money means a lot, but he's also very interested in fit from a talent POV.
*Nate, KP and the rest of the Blazers higher-ups are both completely sold on him in every way.
*Hedo will be in town thru the weekend, talking to Blazers staff, checking out the city and facilities and taking physicals for the team.
*Toronto likely isn't much of a threat because of how many players they'd have to waive. But just in case, keep an eye on what they do with their FA like Delfino.
*Hedo loves the way Portland has made him their top priority. He also loves that he'd be the 'elder statesman'/mentor on the roster.
*As of right now, the chances Hedo signs with Portland is about 97%.
*The big piece of news, one I may start a new thread about, is this... Portland may not upgrade their PG spot. He said he got strong indications from Nate and KP that the Blazers will focus the rest of the summer on signing a backup PF and basically leave the PG position alone. He said KP and Nate like Hedo's ability to handle the ball and run the pick and roll so much that it really mitigates the need for a better PG. |
| Quote: | Ah, I'll answer this one once. Word is Hedo will come to terms with Portland tomorrow. Also, word is Rudy Fernandez doesn't care - he likes the idea. This is logical - the other stuff he claims was made up. I believe that, because Rudy is levelheaded and it never made sense for him to see Hedo as a threat. Travis Outlaw will now likely be traded, and maybe one of Batum and Outlaw. The target will be a backup PF, unless the Blazers are truly convinced Outlaw can fill that role. I'm not.

Lol I love and hate this excitement.
Sheed expected to visit Orlando next week
| Quote: | The Lakers are the latest among the NBA's elite class to make a major talent acquisition since the end of the Finals. The Cavaliers, who lost in the Eastern Conference finals to Orlando, formally introduced center Shaquille O'Neal, picked up from Phoenix a week ago, to their fans in Cleveland yesterday. The Magic, which lost to the Lakers in the Finals, traded for eight-time All-Star guard Vince Carter on draft night. The Spurs picked up forward Richard Jefferson from the Bucks; the Celtics, Spurs and Magic all are in hot pursuit of Pistons free agent big man Rasheed Wallace.
Boston lead owner Wyc Grousbeck, general manager Danny Ainge, head coach Doc Rivers, Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce all went to Detroit on Thursday to formally present Wallace with an offer for the full mid-level exception. But they left town without Wallace agreeing to a deal. Wallace will visit San Antonio and Orlando next week, according to a source, before making up his mind. Wallace is not likely to visit Cleveland. |

^ I just don't want him in Boston. But I think he really wants to land Sheed but has Bass as a backup. _________________ Drunk
